Key violations by motorists:

• Failure to yield:
  • When entering a roadway or from on-street parking
  • At a stop or yield sign
  • When turning left
• Unsafe passing (too close, cutting in, or with insufficient sight distance)
• Improper right turn (immediately in front of a cyclist)
• Driving too fast for conditions
• Opening a car door into traffic (cyclist)

You should know the State statute numbers that relate to all of these offenses (and sometimes local ordinances, as with sidewalk bicycling restrictions).
