Crash Report - How

Much of what is filed on a crash report involving a cyclist is the same as what you would do for any other crash. You should document:

  1. Age and gender of those involved in crash.
  2. Comments from witnesses, giving equal credence to statements from cyclists, motorists, and passers by.
  3. Presence of injuries and damage.
  4. Any suspected traffic violations.
  5. Evidence of motorist or bicyclist impairment.
  6. Description and photos of the crash scene, including the location of vehicles. As with any crash, do not move anything prior to documenting and photographing the scene.
